About the Event
David Charles Plate is a non-profit researcher who focuses largely on finding resonance between media. He runs experiments in probability by aligning concept albums with their feature film equivalent, or energetic ‘twin’. This phenomenon was first popularized in the 70’s with The Wizard of Oz and Darkside of the Moon by starting the album on the third roar of the MGM lion, muting the film and allowing the album to loop. With over 20 year experience in this activity he shares his most synergistic findings on his webpage at thesyncbook.com which contains over 100 such pairings instantly available for streaming and download. He is also a digital collage artist whose pieces seek to externalize the subliminal qliphotic archetypes embedded in Hollywood and the music industry, while weaving these elements into a two-fold templelike tapestry and or sheath, enshrouding and replicating the underlying order of the Kabbalistic Tree of Life inherent in nature, which is in turn replicated in the arts, both consciously as well as subconsciously. This event will be a gallery show as well as a ‘is everybody in? the ceremony is about to begin’ film screening featuring Once Upon a Time in Hollywood synced to Lana Del Rey’s album Norman Fucking Rockwell! with the volume of the film mixed in between vocals.
